Last night we had a collossal nameserver fail for BungieHQ and associated Howett.Net sites.  The backbone of the internet has recently been touchy and irregular lately, not just affecting us but other sites as well, so it's not that large of a surprise that we lost an evening to a failure x.x.

Sorry to all those who tried to get on and could not!

Thank you very much everyone! I came to BHQ just like anyone else, a humble neophyte. In fact, my being here at all is only by the slimmest chance. I got a PM from DSollick in my Bungie.net inbox, which I hadn't ever checked before, haven't checked since, and probably won't check again, and followed it and found a forum. And I certainly don't start up an account and start posting at any forum I find. I just posted my poem, planning to check back for a few reactions, then go back to my daily life. But an excited response, a warm welcome, and the helpful hints of Colin (props to Colin) convinced me to stay. And to post. And to get involved. After having been here for awhile now, and having come far in the time I've been here, I can honestly say that that decision to stay was a good one. I've had some great experiences with BHQ, come to know some great people, and formed some friendships that are more valuable to me than a name on a computer screen. And I know I will have many more. I happily accept this promotion and hope that I can help BHQ as much as it's helped me.

I'm glad to introduce InternetNinja as our 4th Global Moderator and our first using the new ratification system!

Hey, stopping in for another blogpost!  I meant to write this a little while ago but some stuff has been coming up that served as a pretty good distraction.

First thing: a few new thingers!  Quotes have been re-done, and I think in a much more superior manner [besides space-conservation, but w/e], there's been an addition of an 'off-topic' tag, that doesn't work the best, and the addition of a 'Spore Profile' field, that still needs some work.

Overall, it was a tiny little change but I'm always on the lookout for new stuff to install.  There should be a new poll up over the new quotes, and I'm really happy about the performance of the new smiley themes.

Just to let everyone know, TDavisss has resigned and has had his account deleted for security reasons [his own].  There has been a behind-the-scenes conflict and he found it best to relinquish his position on the site and reconsider his role entirely as being a Member of BungieHQ.  I'd like to thank Tim for his service and effort of trying to make BungieHQ great.

On an additional note, InternetNinja will be appointed Global Moderator on the 4th, barring no serious oppositions are raised to his promotion.  This will be followed by a possible staff-reorganization to streamline the effectiveness of our staff and allow us to adapt to change.

Constitution, if plans stay correctly, should be out for ratification on Thursday.  If not, you'll see more about that later!  Have a great week, everybody!

Hey, it's been a while.  Burke and I have been busy and working on school stuff, so we apologize for the lack of new stuff.  We are working on stuff, it's just that we're doing it very slowly.

The Constitution is slowly evolving into it's final form as I type up my revisions and hammer out new provisions, etc. when I have free time in my Accounting class.  I hope to get it done by 7/7

That being said, smilies!  I just installed a few new smiley themes [honestly, I installed as many good ones as I could but there aren't many for SMF], and you can try them out by going to Profile > Look and Layout and then selecting one of the various smiley themes.

I'm not sure any of them are good enough to fit everyone's tastes, so we'll leave the default one as the default :]  Go check 'em out!

Other than that, it's just been slow lately.  Sorry -- there's not a whole lot to talk about as development is slow.

Also, FOM is slugging along like an animal slowly recovering from a jugular wound.  Should be ready soon.  [SS committee is finally going!  WOOT!  Go BHS!]
